A new school-system
I am a big opponent of the current enforced school-system. For one I think it is wrong to force children to learn things, secondly I think it is in-efficient. A child who wants to be a composer should study music, not mathematics, and a child who wants to be a mathematician should study maths, not music. In our current system children learn everything. Why not let the children specialize as early as they know what to do with their lives. I think that the only "compulsory" schooling should be to learn to read and write and speak english. After that, it should be all self-exploratory. A course in world orientation could be offered, where the children learn about the planet, our solar system, the galaxy and so on. Also about the society that exists on this planet, and what different professions exists. After that, the child should be able to stake out a course of action on his or her own. Whether that be to study or start working with something.
The state never wanted a learning system that is made to think. They made modern schools for people to obey. Many politicians have admitted that.
SvaraRaderaAlso, I think we should, instead, remember children of the good parts of learning and not really force them. We should also make it fun for them, instead of only giving them a 15 mins break with a rotten chicken on their table to eat.
I am in favor of education systems teaching everything that is necessary. Only making them teach their own language probably won't make a smarter society. If we do in the right way, people will learn everything that is important to their lifes and make a better society.
We also should highlight the importance of creativity to make new things.
